Many of us have had our mental health struggles during 2020. Mental health does not discriminate, but neither does physical health so it is extremely important to improve our self-care regime to look after the whole of US.
It has become more important now than ever to address these crucial elements of our lives.
I have had my own personal struggles and challenges this year. Owning Definition Body Coaching in York for 7 years, we have had to close our doors for 5 months already this year. The trauma and stress of the first lockdown took its toll on my mental health, just as it did for so many of us during this period.
The relief from stress was achieved by my own self-care routine: Exercising regularly; achieving daily steps goals and controlled eating proved pivotal. So much so, that I was much better prepared for Lockdown 2. I’m not saying that it’s been easy and totally stress-free, but I know that using my self-care routine has had a massive impact on my wellbeing this time around.
Mental health, overweight and obesity statistics are growing in the UK. 2020 has only exacerbated this situation for so many. Self-care is vital to reversing this damaging statistic.
Small steps and achievable goals lead to the long-term benefits of better wellbeing. You can make the difference to YOUR life by taking the FIRST steps towards self-improvement and feeling brighter.
Here at Definition Body Coaching, we recently completed a 10 week challenge to raise awareness of and do something about the lack of exercise, poor eating habits and reduced self-care many of us have experienced during these unprecedented times.
We had 40 clients take part, ranging from 26 to 82 years of age. A quarter of them lost over a stone in that time, losing over a combined 20 stone. They also showed huge physical and mental improvement along the way.
Jill Wiseman ,46, mum of 2 says:
“I’m fitter, lighter and in a far better mental state. I now plan to continue with my next personal goals.”
Now could be the time to start YOUR own self-care journey.
